From CHN: Say No to Zombie Health Care

Zombie health care repeal is trying to become undead.

Don't let it - call your Senators now and ask them to oppose the Graham-Cassidy health care repeal plan!

U.S. Capitol switchboard:  (202) 224-3121 (ask for your Senators and you'll be connected)

Hi Scott,

It's almost unbelievable - we need your help to beat back one more last-ditch effort to repeal the Affordable Care Act.  A new bill has surfaced, co-sponsored by Senators Cassidy (R-LA) and Graham (R-SC), which would make disastrous reductions to the marketplace insurance subsidies, Medicaid expansion, and regular Medicaid program.  Medicaid expansion and private insurance subsidies are cut and turned into a block grant to states.  The regular Medicaid program will have its funding capped.  Between 2020 - 2026, states would lose $239 billion in subsidies and Medicaid cuts, according the the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.  After 2026, the block grant for insurance subsidies and Medicaid expansion will end - a repeal of most of the Affordable Care Act with no replacement specified. There is no official estimate yet of how many people would lose health insurance under this last-minute plan, and it is possible that senators will be asked to vote without seeing such an estimate, which in itself is outrageous.  But previous plans with similar repeal/no replacement provisions have been estimated to result in 32 million people nationwide losing coverage.  This bill is surfacing now because the Senate has only untilSeptember 30 to pass a health care repeal bill with only a simple majority - after that they'll need 60 votes.  We really need your help to contact your Senators now.  The mammoth outcry against the previous repeal stopped it.  Don't let them slip this one past us.
Please see this important message from our friends at Families USA

We’re hearing alarming news that a last-ditch effort to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act and gut Medicaid is gaining steam in the Senate.

Today we need people to call their senators, urging them to publicly oppose the latest repeal bill, known as Graham-Cassidy. The sponsors of the bill are only a couple of votes away from being able to pass the bill.

Talking points for the Senate
Use these talking points in your calls and emails to your senators:
Use social media to spread the word about the devastating harm Graham-Cassidy would cause!
Tweet at your senators urging them to oppose Graham-Cassidy.

Share this tweet and this Facebook post about the ways that Graham-Cassidy is just as bad as previous repeal bills the Senate has already rejected.

Supporters of ACA repeal only have a few days to get the votes they need to pass this bill, which means we only have a few days to stop them.

Together we can protect the health care of families across the country!

Thank you.
